Old Kitchen
In remodeling the kitchen in your house, you will find that the old kitchen cabinets will be changed with new ones. Many of the contractors do this thing since the old cabinets might not fit the decoration of new kitchen that you build. Some of them are thrown away in the dumpster. Actually this is not a good decision since you can reuse the cabinets.
When you want to reuse the kitchen cabinets that you have, you have to make sure that those cabinets are still in very good condition. In this case, you can use them as the storage units for your garage. Instead of saving your money, reusing old cabinets will make you more creative.
Before doing this project, you have to make a layout on how the cabinets are installed in the garage for the storage. In this case, you might use the combination of the overhead cabinets and base cabinets so that they will become new storage units in your garage.
After you get the layout, you can start working in your garage to install these cabinets. The corner is the perfect space to start your work. From this space, install the cabinets one by one. When you want to make it easier and faster, you can ask someone to help you in doing the installation. Additionally, start with the upper cabinets will give you the easiness.
Additionally, if you want to gather one cabinet to other, you can clamp the cabinets side by side and drive the screw to gather them. This will give you more space in your garage. But, do not forget to reinstall the doors of the cabinets after you have finished installing them on the walls.
However, there is one thing that you have to pay attention before screwing the cabinets on the wall. You have to look at the walls of your garage to get the correct installation. If the walls are covered with sheetrock, you have to install the cabinets straight forward and you have to know the type of the walls. If it is usual walls, you can directly screw the cabinets into the walls. But, if the wall is poured concrete wall, you should use the 1 x 4 nail strips to install them on the walls. To give brighter look, paint the wall with bright color.
