OLDEST HOUSE IN THE WORLD


Houses prehistoric Scotland was discovered when excavation in the Edinburgh, Scotland. The house is thought to have stood in the Mesolitikum to 10,252 years ago. Of radiocarbon tests conducted, researchers estimate that this is the oldest house found in Scotland.

"These findings, in particular the results of the laboratory analysis adds very useful information for researchers on early Scottish residents and building 10,000 years ago," said Senior Archaeologist, Rod McCullagh. At the site, discovered a few things besides the post holes, such as fires, bow, and prehistoric tools.

Archaeologists believe that the house is not occupied all year round, but only when the winter comes. This is because the researchers also found large quantities of hazelnuts in the storage house. Project Manager excavation, Ed Bailey said, "The discovery of this kind is rare and this site has given us the opportunity to expand our understanding of human prehistory."

Ed added that with the present invention, the lifestyle will span the 'hierarchy Mesolitikum more detail. "Any discovery and archaeological evidence analyzed and will help us gather palaeoenviromental puzzles and picture detail about Mesolitikum,".
